Landscapes

Photography helps me connect to a place that I have a love and hate relationship with; the landscape. While I am fascinated by nature and rural geography, I am deeply unfamiliar with it. The unknown pulls me and scares me simultaneously.

With this series, I look at landscape photography’s unavoidable cliché manner. Shot in different geographies and seasons, the photographs bring together my view of the world. Mixing photographs of places with those of still-lives of objects, these images interrogate the notion of landscape photography. The imperfect and sometimes unexpected compositions are directly medium-related, I am curious to see how far I can push the conventional landscape photography within my specific experiences of these places
